i read in the papers like many of you of people who murder others,sunday a girl of 21 was murdered in grimsby she was 7 months pregnant...her baby died also the man was caught and now is being sentanced with her murder......am i missing something here?? the baby was 7 months in the womb thats makes it illegal to get abortion there for it is a person???? so surely he should be getting done for double murder???..my point is we fill our jails with scum like him and the live cushty lives......sorry but that !!!!

if you kill someone on purpose then you should face the death penalty,life is never life in prison.....i say if you are convicted 100% for killing someone you should die for doing it.!!! it makes me sick seein folk come out in 15-20 years time.....

yea think we should bring back the death penalty to be used in cases like this. plus prison is a joke it should be like the states where its hard labour and really tough going not this nonsense about sitting with tvs, playstations and the like. as for "its against human rights etc" in my opinion if you commit a crime like that you are not exactly concerned for anyone elses rights so why the hell should it apply to you? should be food water and a bed if you ask me. grrr x

yea its mad the sentences people get as well dunno if any of you saw it but there was a report in the last week or so of a 19yr old who raped a 12yr old girl he was meant to be looking after. Shes just had the baby and has attempted suicide several times after the trauma she went through. Pretty sure he only got a suspended sentence and might be put on the sex offenders list. what a joke eh just shows you really can get away with anythin in this country! xx

Dunno about the death penalty for all murders etc there is exceptional circumastances ie crimes of passion, accident when fighting etc. It wasn't that long ago the guildford four and birmingham six were all freed and cleared of IRA bombing attacks on pubs. At the time anyone Irish in the vicinity of where the bomb when off became a suspect, after taking DNA swabs from them they found traces of nitrocellulose which was later proven to be from the playing cards they used in the pub, but was enough to secure a speedy conviction at the time. Point is with the ill feeling about at the time of the bombing if there was a death sentence they would not be free today.

I would welcome the death penalty introduced for repeat offenders like serial killers, rapists/ molesters as keeping people like peter sutcliff (yorkshire ripper) alive and fed is a waste of space and money.

thats what im saying,if there is no doubt at all then wy keep them alive? if you murder someone you deserve to die.

some ppl just don't relies how much it costs the government to keep them in there that's y they get chucked out after so long so i say kill them all LOL

The problem with death penalty is you can't just take them round the back with a loaded gun, there needs to be an unlimited appeals system, or at least thats what the human rights lawyers will say to keep their jobs

yeah on death row they can be there for years waiting for there turn

yea i agree that it should only be used in the most severe of cases and everything should be taken in to account i.e previous offences, motive etc. however there are some people who it shouldnt even be a question with after the things they have done x

I agree that it should defo still be allowed, especailly in repeat convictors etc. I also think there should be tougher punishment not only in prison but in schools to. back when belting was allowed and people were bought up with respect there were far less crimes etc... yes i will go sit in my rocking chair with my knitting now lol

definitely... it needs to start earlier like if were gonna change the way things are going. for instance the high school i went to started going seriously downhill when we were leaving. ma wee bro (4 years younger) has just left and said that the police were in the school every thursday "observing" (i.e looking for people they were after), they werent allowed metal cutlery and someone set fire to the toilets during exam time.

its mad tho like vicky was saying i would never have swore at anyone or talked back at anyone at all when i was young but it seems that its considered acceptable nowadays. theres something far wrong when theres primary school kids swearing at you and wanting you to buy them fags/drink. it disgusts me x

yeah you knew when you where younger if you even looked at any one older than you the wrong way that was it sore backside but even my oldest who is 10 has the most terrible evil looks and an attitude of maybe a 16 yr old im dreading a couple of years when she is a teenager
