right i know most would have seen on the news about cristiano ronaldos move to madrid for ?80 million pounds.......how the hell do they justify paying 80 mill for a footballer??if ronaldo snaps his knee/ankle chances are he willnever play again i just think it is sick.....the world is in financial melt down,so how much money do football clubs have?

im slowly falling out of love with football, its not about the winning anymore its about the money.....its not sport anymore its financial gain.

i love tottenham like family but te enjoyment is goin and i never thought it would ever be that way.

sheesh m8 80 million is nothing to real madrid or man united or chelsea or man city its a pair jeans to these guys a thought would be a good idea to donate a persentage to the 2 countries charitys on such big transactions even 1% would make a ton diffrence to a hospital or to sick kids...

This is what annoys me! how can they earn so much for kicking a ball round a pitch for 90 mins and a bit of training here and there.

I mean if someone was to come up with the ultimate cure for cancer and win the nobel prize all they would get is a million pounds (fair enough they would probably make alot from the sell of the drug etc) but it's nothing in comparrison to the wage of a footballer. Honestly it makes me sick

EDIT: I think this is the major reason why i don't watch football!

There come's a time in your life...
When you realise who matters, who never did
    and who always will
So don't worry about the people from the past because...
There was a reason they didn't make it to the future

its totally ridiculous eh! when ya think what people like paramedics, firemen, surgeons etc get paid its nowhere near footballers wages and they are people who are putting themselves at risk in order to help other people. footballers on the other hand think its acceptable to act like twats, say sorry and get away with it all. makes me mad like. plus seems like theyre incapable of playing an "honest" game without all this diving and other childish nonsense. grrrr x

Yeah but what you forget is those poor footballers don't get paid for their break at half time. LOL Its doesnt bother me as I can't wait to see clubs like chelsea and man city collapse when their sugar daddies get bored of football and move on to something else, will feel sorry for the true fans when the club they have loved for years crumbles into administration.

Its just a distraction from other things, without it most guys would probably end up being dragged into city centres to go shopping with their missus.

Why have a go at Ronaldo? I hate the little t***er but at the end of the day, he's not the one deciding how much he's worth, is he? It's the clubs fault, too much 'virtual' money. How can you justify, in the current economic crisis, paying ?139 million on 2 players? 2 PLAYERS!! Some clubs could survive for YEARS and YEARS on that sort of money, and I'm talking Premiership teams, not lower leagues.

The football transfer market has just got out of control. There should be a cap on transfer fees and wages should be performance based.

I agree that transfer fees and wages have got to ridiculous levels nowadays but at the end of the day a lot of the clubs are business orientated. Getting these players enhances their chances of success at club and european level plus there's the marketing side of it. A club will sell more shirts with Ronaldo's name on it than my name lol.

The agents of these highly paid players are to blame for a lot imo. They know that if they negotiate a bigger transfer fee they get a bigger cut.
